Fashion Trends For Autumn-Winter 2009

We are entering a new season and that brings along with it exciting new styles and fashion trends to try out. From the latest catwalk shows here are the trends that will be appearing on the high street for autumn winter 2009.

Famous designers such as Marc Jacobs and Versace all took on a futuristic style in their catwalk displays. Here are 3 key tips to imitating this trend from the high street without the designer price tags.

1. Metallics

High street stores online and offline have lots of styles to choose from so you can be as bold or as subtle as you want with the metallic shiny trend that is upon us.

This look is all about glitz, glamour and sparkle. You can opt for an all over sequin mini dress to a more understated dress with just hints of sparkle and sequins. Silver and gold metallic designs are also popular with this look.

Blazers are bang on trend at the moment with new sequin blazers hitting the shops for the metallic sequin trend!

2. Sharp shapes

Sharp structured shapes are key features that make up this seasons style. Shoulder pads with their angular shape are making a come back from the 80s to accentuate the shoulders. Skirts and dresses are also taking on strong sharp shapes to accentuate the hips and the feminine form.

3. Funky Punk Designs

The third defining feature for the autumn/winter futuristic fashion look is funky details such as zips, studs and shreds as well as bold graphic prints and colour splash styles.
